Speed Alert measures how fast vehicles move in video clips recorded by the Ring cameras you choose to connect. This page explains what we collect and what we do with it.
What we receive from Ring
When you connect Speed Alert in the Ring app, Ring gives us access to the cameras you selected: vehicle motion events, the recorded clip for each event, and basic device information such as the camera name and whether it is online. We do not receive your Ring password.
What we do with clips
We analyze each clip to estimate the speed of vehicles in it. We keep the clip and an annotated copy so you can review them. We do not read license plates, recognize faces, or look anyone up. Repeat-visitor matching compares the appearance of vehicles within your own cameras only and is never shared with other households.
What we store
Your email address, the cameras you connected, your settings, each measured pass (time, direction, speed estimate), and the clips. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with third parties except the services that host Speed Alert.
Deleting your data
Remove Speed Alert from My Apps in the Ring app to revoke access. You can delete everything we hold from the dashboard, or by emailing support@speedalertapp.com. Deletion covers all copies, including backups.
